How to Get Rid of Sent Via Blackberry

With a BlackBerry smartphone, you can respond to your email wherever you travel, but you may not want the device to add the default "Sent via BlackBerry" signature to the end of every email you send. You can get rid of this default signature by changing your email preferences through your BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) account, and you can even replace the line with your own personal signature.

On your computer, go to the BIS website of the company that provides your BlackBerry Internet service, such as AT&T, Verizon or Sprint/Nextel. If you are unsure of the address, call your service provider and ask for it.

Find the section of the account page labeled "Manage the accounts you are using with your BlackBerry device." Click on the "Edit" icon next to the email account that is using the "Sent via BlackBerry" signature.

Delete the text in the box labeled "Signature," then click "Save."

Log out of your BIS account. Your BlackBerry should no longer attach "Sent via BlackBerry" to every email it sends.

Tips & Warnings

· After deleting the text in the "Signature" box, you can type in your own personal signature. Your new signature will replace the "Sent via BlackBerry" message and be attached to every email you send.

· You must perform these steps on an Internet device other than your BlackBerry. You cannot edit your account through your BlackBerry.

· Your username for logging in to the BIS page is not your BlackBerry email address; you have to create it separately through your BlackBerry's Internet browser. If you have trouble logging in, try creating a new account from your BlackBerry, then edit the account from your computer.
